Corn Harvest Parade in Loveland, CO

Nick is student teaching this semester in Loveland, CO. For one of their first events they marched in a parade in Loveland. I being the loving wife that I am, got up with him at 6:00 on a Saturday so that I could watch him, and take some pictures. Sadly I wasn't in a great position, and some of the pictures were in the shadows. Nonetheless...here you go.

Books I've been reading

Recently I've been reading books by Elizabeth Gaskell. One of my favorite movies of all time is North and South, which is based on the book by Elizabeth Gaskell. The movie was pretty much the same as the book. There were a few different things. You get to know John Thorton a little more, which is nice cause you realize he's not a bad person, but you realize that in the movie too.

I downloaded a amazon kindle app on my phone. I get free books, most of them are old, so I read a few of her books. The first one I read was called Ruth. It did not have a happy ending persay, but it had a good story. Its about a young girl who is orphaned and works at a dress shop, and she is very beautiful, and not very smart. She starts "hanging out" with this son of a very rich lady. Well he pretty much ruins her life in a way. She get pregnant, but find help from a clergy man. It's like a moral of the story kind of book. She feels like she was a huge sinner but she turns her life around and ends up saving a lot of people.

The 2nd one I read was called Moorland Cottage, it was suprisingly short, but a great love story. It's funny because it starts out really great and then ends sort of abruptly.

I also read The Red Pyramid. It is by Rick Riordian. I read all of the Pery Jackson books. This one was okay, but I guess it just not as great as other books or series I've read.
